Background: The Nominating Subcommittee of the Tustin Community Foundation recently completed recruitment and interviews for new board members. The Subcommittee, consisting of Margarete Thompson, Alan Hirasuna and Jeff Thomas, conducted interviews Thursday, January 4, 1996. The following individuals (see attached resumes) were nominated by the Foundation Board at their January 9, 1996, Special Meeting: Mellie Deano (2 year term) Jim McDonald (3 year term) Marlene Robinson (2 year term) Pursuant to the Foundation's bylaws, approval of the nominees requires a four-fifths (4/5) vote of the City Council. If approved, new members will be seated at the Foundation's Annual Meeting on January 24, 1996. The proiect provided [he addition of local acc~)ss ramps into the John Wayne Airport from branch connectors on the 1-405 / SR-55 Freeway Interchange. Complete PS&E were prepared to Caltrans Standards and Specifications. Orange County, CA As the Project Manager, Mr McDonald supervised the Master Plan of Drainage for eight miles of channei facil- ities within wes[em Orange County. In order to prepare the Master Plan of Orainage, several channel system alternatives were analy.z, ed considerin9 six alternative retarding basin sites and two alternative ocean oudet alignments. Recommendations for each channel system wes based upon detailed hydraulic calculations and a cost estimate. Brookhurst Bridge, Orange County, CA Mr, McDonald supervised the design and construction of the widening and lengthening of the City of Huntington Beach's bridge and local street. Services provided included preliminary'engineering and final design. This was a Cai[rahs cooperative project. Pacific Coast Highway, Orange County, CA Mr. McDonald served as the Project Manager for the design and construction widening of Pacific Coast Highway through the City of Newport Beach (Cattrans Cooperative Projec0. The project consisted of grading street, storm drain, wa[er, retaining and sound wails, signing, striping, traffic signals, and traffic handling/detour plans for approximately 1.6 miles of Roadway. The projec! was constructed in five phases to maintain traffic flows alon9 the highway at all times. El Modena Channel, Orange County. CA Mr. McDonald was the project manger responsible for the plans, specifications and an estimate package for one and one half miles of. OCFC, D regional channel facilities within the City of Tustin. The El Modena channe~ presented unique design challenges due to a high ground water table and expansive soil chatler~ges that were met by innovative solutions by RBF's design professionals. San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor, Orange County, CA Mr. McDonald served as the Principal-in-Charge for the definition of an alignment for approximately one mile of the proposed San Joaquin Hills Transportation Corridor main-line tollway located within the Irvine Ranch. Services provided included quantity and cost analysis, interchange design and coordination with the adja- cer~t Property owners and the County of Orange. City of Irvine, and the City of Newport Beach, I-5 / 1-405 Confluence and Bake Parkway Interchange, Orange County, CA This $85 million dollar project was for the reconstruction of the area commonly known as the El Toro "Y", as well as the construction of a new interchange at Bake Parkway. Mr. McDonald was responsible for the man- agement of a staff of over 100 personnel who developed preliminary and final plans, specifications and esti- mates for att project design including bridge structures, roadway layout, profiles, storm drain, retainin9 walls, sound walls, signin9 striping and stage construction.
