HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PERSONNEL SERVICES RESOLUTION #96-21 RELATING CONF!_nENT!AL E.~PLOYEE~ , · TO COMPENSATION OF RECOMMENDATION: That Resolution No. 96-21 relating to compensation of confidential employees be adopted by the City Council to grant confidential employees the same compensation and benefits as other general employees. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost for confidential employees is approximately $4,000. DISCUSSION' In order to keep Confidential Employees' compensation and benefits equivalent to those received by other non-management, non-sworn employees a resolution is necessary since these employees are unrepresented and do not have a memorandum of understanding with the City. Compensation and benefits described in the resolution are the same as those received by other non-sworn, non-management employees in comparable positions. Bettie Correa Senior Personnel Analyst BMC3:CU961NC.RPT 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 96-21 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION OF CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to provide increases in compensation to its Confidential employees as a result of a conference with respective Department Heads, and subsequent to recommendations of the City Manager. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1. Service Recognition: Effective upon approVal of Council, each employee in the Confidential Unit will receive a one time service recognition award of $200 payable to the following classifications: Personnel Analyst Executive Coordinator Office Coordinator Secretary-Personnel Dept. Clerk-City Mgr. Section 2. Classification and Compensation Study: The Confidential Unit shall be included in the agreed-upon classification and compensation study which shall be conducted on classifications in the clerical series for non-management general employees. The non-clerical positions in this unit shall be included in the compensation study for all other classes. Recommended changes made asa result of the above study shall be subject to approval by the City Manager prior to implementation. Section 3. Flexible Benefits: Effective July 1, 1995, Flexible Benefits Contribution by the City for Confidential Employees shall be amended as follows: Employee Only Employee plus One Dependent Employee plus two or more dependents $267.00 $380.00 $478 Section 4. Holidays: Hereafter, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, usually celebrated on December 24 and December 31 shall be paid as 8-hour holidays. 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 Section 5. Other Benefits: Amendments pertaining to non-management, non-sworn employees made to the City Rules and Regulations, Public Employees' Retirement Plan for Miscellaneous employees or other employment conditions shall also apply to Confidential Employees.
