LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT NO. 96-1 (NEWPORT AVENUE WELL SITE)
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of May 6, 1996, adopt Resolution No.
96-43 approving Lot Line Adjustment No. 96-1.
FISCAL IMPACT
In accordance with a previously approved agreement, the purchase of the property will result in an
expenditure of $5,400.00 from the Water Capital Improvement Program (Project No. 600133).
DISCUSSION
This lot line adjustment is being initiated by the City of Tustin Water Services Division in
accordance with an agreement dated December 20, 1995 between the City of Tustin and Cleo H.
Key and Margaret,A. Key and subsequently approved by the Tustin City Council at its meeting of
January 15, 1996. The location of the lot line adjustment is shown on the attached location map.
This lot line adjustment is provided for in Section 66412 (d) of the Subdivision Map Act wherein
the act makes provisions for the local agency to approve lot line adjustments where the land taken
from one parcel is added to an adjacent parcel and where a greater number of parcels than
originally existed is not thereby created.
The attached documents, consisting of a resolution and five (5) sheets of an application for lot line
adjustment, will provide this adjustment once the resolution has been adopted by Council and the
application approved by staff.
This application has been reviewed by both the Community Development ~ent and the
Engineering Division of the Public Works Department and all proposed adjustments have been
found to be in compliance with all zoning and setback requirements of the City and the provisions
of the California Subdivision Map Act.
BACKGROUND
The Newport Avenue Wellsite is located on property acquired by the City as a part of its purchase
of the Tustin Water Works. The well has been inactive since the late 1970's due to the high nitrate
and salt content of the water. It is intended to be placed back in service as a part of the Seventeenth
Street Desalter Project.
