BACKGROUND

The District provides funding for the maintenance of the perimeter landscaping on the arterial

within the Tustin Ranch area and other locations within the City.
Three additional City Council actions will be required as the process proceeds:
· First,.the adoption of a resolution approving the Engineer's Report which is tentatively
scheduled for June 3, 1996.
Second ~the adoption of a resolution declaring the City Council's intention to annex
additional territory to the district and to provide an annual levy of assessment which is
also tentatively scheduled for June 3, 1996. This resolution will set the date for a public
hearing in early July 1996.
The territory to be annexed consists of two parcels that have been approved for
development this past year in various parts of the City and as part of the approval
process were conditioned to be annexed to the Tustin Landscape and Lighting District.
The third resolution will order the annexations and the levy of annual assessments to be
outlined in the Engineer's Report and will be available for City Council action in July
1996.
DISCUSSION
The attached Resolution No. 96-52 orders the preparation of the Engineer's Report for the levy of
annual assessments for the 1996-97 fiscal year for the District. It is requested that the City Council
