Commented on the selection of Orange County voting machines to be used at 2004 election. Reported on Tustin Pride Committee and announced the new officers for 2003. Reported on the Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency stating that loss of funds has delayed the Prado Dam project; and that he was elected to the executive committee. Reported on the Orange County Council of Governments meeting stating that the local housing and job forecasts were forwarded to Southern California Association of Governments for review; also stated that he was elected to the Vice-Chair position for 2003. Reported on the actions of the League of California Cities meeting. Requested meeting adjournment in memory of the astronauts killed in the Colombia Space Shuttle tragedy. Kawashima Commented on the Outstanding Inventors convention he attended with Councilmember Bone. Stated that he obtained Universal Design Standards for new home construction from the City of Brea for the staff's review and consideration. Asked about interim farming and agricultural use policies citywide. Commented on the anticipated joint meeting with the Tustin Unified School District tentatively scheduled for March 31, 2003.
