RECOI It is of Mitc title onl the MENDATION Immended that the City Council approve the request for permit parking on the south side Avenue between Heatherfield Drive and Browning Avenue and have first reading by and introduction of Ordinance No. 1266 to amend City Code Section 5331n to designate section of Mitchell Avenue for on-street parking by permit only. FISCAl IMPACT It is e,, imated that the cost to install permit parking signs, on the subject street section is approx $800.00. Funds are currently available in the Public Works/Engineering Division and Services Division operating budgets to accommodate this work. In street sub the mber 2002, the City received a petition from residents on the south side of Mitchell between Heatherfield Drive and Browning Avenues expressing concerns with the on- ng of vehicles overflowing from adjacent apartment complexes in the area of the ;et. The petition further requests that the City investigate the possibility of designating ;ct street section for on-street parking by permit only. The subject street is shown on the exhibit. Kasdan ~ Engineering Services Manager ORDINANCE NO. 1266 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TUSTIN CITY CODE SECTION 5331n TO DESIGNATE THE SOUTH SIDE OF MITCHELL AVENUE BETWEEN HEATHERFIELD DRIVE AND BROWNING AVENUE FOR PERMIT PARKING The City Council of the City of Tustin, California does hereby ordain as follows: WHEREAS, the City has received numerous complaints regarding the on- street parking of vehicles overflowing from apartments and condominiums within the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the most appropriate method of managing the problem of overflow street parking in residential areas would be the implementation of a "Parking by Permit Only" system during certain hours for residents of those streets. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin, California does hereby ordain that Section 5331n of the Tustin City Code be amended as follows: SECTION 5331 STOPPING, STANDING OR PARKING RESTRICTED OR PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS n. Parking by Permit Only The following area(s) have been designated to require a special parking permit to park vehicles on the streets between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6 p.m., seven (7) days a week. 1. Heatherfield Drive and Sandwood Place between Mitchell Avenue and Cloverbrook Drive. 2. Rosalie Place and Quent Drive. 3. Cindy Lane and Letty Lane. 4. Cloverbrook Drive. 5. Myrtle Avenue between Second Street and Main Street. o Main Street between Pasadena Avenue and Pacific Street (north side of Main Street); Lorelei Lane; and Myrtle Avenue, Medallion Avenue, California Street, Pacific Street, and Corla Avenue, north of McFadden Avenue. 7.
