HomeMy WebLinkAbout18 PLANNING COMMISS. 03-03-03AGENDA REPORT Agenda Item Reviewed: City Manager Finance Director 18 MEETING DATE: MARCH 3, 2003 TO: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF PLANNING COMMISSIONER SUMMARY: Due to a Planning Commissioner's resignation, there is currently one vacancy on the Planning Commission with a term expiration of March 1, 2004. RECOMMENDATION: The City Council may make an appointment from the applications submitted for the recent recruitment, or direct staff to prepare a new vacancy notice and do a new recruitment for the Planning Commission. BACKGROUND: At the February 18, 2003 meeting, the City Council conducted interviews and cast ballots to fill three vacancies on the Planning Commission. Since that time, Mark Denny has resigned his seat on the Commission, which leaves one vacancy with a term expiration of March 1, 2004. The following people submitted applications for this last recruitment: Brett Floyd, Andrew Hamilton, Lynda Jenkins, Leslie Pontious, and Kelly Reid. It has been an honor and a pleasure serving the residents and businesses of Tustin as a Plmming Cormnissioner. I share the pride and appreciation of my fellow residents in the frae caliber of the city staff and the appointed and elected members of its governing bodies. Tustin is truly fortunate to have such dedicated and conscientious people in its service. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve.
