CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE/INVOCATION The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kennedy at 7:02 p.m. in the ~.. City Council Chambers, 300 Centennial Way. The Pledge of Allegiance ; ' was led by Planning Commissioner White, and the Invocation was given by ~ Planning Commissioner Puckett. II. ROLL CALL Councilpersons Present: Ursula E. Kennedy, Mayor Richard B. Edgar Donald J. Saltarelli Frank H. Greinke (Arrived at 7:07 p.m.) Councilpersons Absent: Ronald B. Hoesterey Planning Commissioners Present: Ronald White James B. Sharp Charles Puckett Kathy Wei 1 John J. McCarthy Others Present: William A. Huston, City Manager Mary E. Wynn, City Clerk Donald D. Lamm, Com. Development Director Royleen A. White, Dir. of Com. & Admin. Srvcs. Jeff Kol i n, Recreati on Superintendent Ed Knight, Associate Planner R. Kenneth Fleagle, Consultant Approximately 5 in the audience III. REPORTS OPEN SPACE AND CONSERVATION ELEMENT AND RECREATION ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN Don Lamm, Community Development Director, made opening remarks about the two Elements of the General Plan. He introduced Ed Knight who gave a slide presentation on the Open Space and Conservation Element and Roylean White and Jeff Kolin who gave a slide presentation on the Recreation Element. After considerable discussion by the Council, Planning Commission, and staff, it was moved by Edgar, seconded by Greinke, to schedule Planning Commission Public Hearings for the Open Space and Conservation Element and the Recreation Element of the Tustin General Plan for September 24, 1984. Motion carried 4-0, Hoesterey absent. Councilman Saltarelli suggested that contact be made with the County of Orange to ascertain their plans for parks and recreation in the county area. Cora Lee Gapastione from the Irvine Company interjected that the County is formulating some plans and she would inform the City about them at a 1 ater date. 56 ; : IV, ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Edgar, seconded by Greinke, to adjourn at 8:26 p.m. to the next regular meeting of the City Council on Monday, September 17, 1984, at, 7:00 p.m. Carried 4-0, Hoesterey ~n ' ' MAYOR
