A significant number of Oleanders within the Tustin Ranch area have died as a result of a bacterial disease known as
"Oleander Scorch." Plant experts have found no sure way to eradicate the disease and have found pestiddes to be
generally ineffective against the bacteria that causes the disease. In an effort to find a suitable plant to replace the
diseased Oleanders, the Public Works Department retained the services of the Landscape Architectural firm of Robert
Goto & Associates. Mr. Goto investigated potential replacements for the Oleanders and will present a conceptual plan
to address all the distressed areas in the Ranch.
