SUBJECT: SIDEWALK AND WHEELCHAIR RAMPS - SB 821 PROJECT 1992-93 FY
RECOMMENDATION
For consideration by the City Council at their meeting of March 1,
1993. It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached
resolution approving the plans and specifications for subject
project and directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
FISCAL IMPACT
The estimated cost of this project is $21,393.00 and is programmed
to be funded with SB 821 monies allocated to the City of Tustin
through the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). At
present there is $13,070.00 available in 1992-93 SB 821 monies and
an estimated $14,000.00 due in 1993-94. In the interim it is
proposed to fund the estimated short fall of $8,323.00 with Capital
Improvement Fund monies until receipt of the 1993-94 SB 821 funds
from OCTA.
BACKGROUND
This project includes the construction of new PCC sidewalk and
wheelchair access ramps in the industrial area of westbound Walnut
Avenue, between New Myford Road and the east side of the railroad
crossing.
A tentative schedule for this project is as follows:

WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City ,Coun on fi s f the City

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and
specifications for the construction of said work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,that the plans and

approved as the plans and specifications for:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk

receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the dogof the work
specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project is categorically
exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act: Class I; Existing Facilities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tustin held on the 1st day of March, 1993.
