HUSTON, CITY MANAGER SUBJECT: TERMINATION OF CONTRACT BETWEEN GREAT WESTERN RECLAMATION, INC. AND THE CITY At its February 1, 1993 meeting, the City Council voted to put trash collection out to bid. The first step is notifying the City's trash hauler, Great Western Reclamation, Inc. of the intention and decision of the City Council not to continue the agreement for trash collection. Attached is a letter notifying Great Western Reclamation, Inc. that its services under the current agreement end on June 30, 1998. The required action would be for the City Council to authorize by minute action the Mayor to sign the letter. AND THE CITY OF TUSTIN Dear Mr. Ross: Pursuant to action of the City Council on February 1, 1993, you are hereby advised that the City of Tustin hereby gives notice to Great Western Reclamation, Inc. of the intention and decision of the City of Tustin not to continue the term of the Agreement for Collection and Transportation of Solid Waste Refuse Produced or Accumulated in the City of Tustin, dated December 19, 1988, as amended, pursuant to the provisions of Paragraph 2 (Term) of the Agreement. Pursuant to the provisions of the Agreement, he term of the Agreement shall end on June 30, 1998, at 11:59 p.m. Great Western shall continue to provide its services pursuant to the terms of the Agreement through the end of June, 1998.
