BACKGROUND: This year's Major Maintenance Program consists of two phases of asphalt concrete rehabilitation and overlay projects: Phase One was the Edinger Avenue Rehabilitation between Jamboree Road and 2410 feet westerly, which was previously awarded by the City Council. The loop street is comprised of Devonshire Avenue, Brookshire Avenue, Canterbury Avenue, and Roanoke Avenue, which were resurfaced in 1986 and 1987. Included in the project are: repair of sidewalk, curb and gutter; repair/modification of the median islands; replacement of traffic signal loops; and traffic striping and legends. An additional sidewalk, curb and gutter repair project will soon be submitted to the City Council for approval, which will obligate the remaining funds from the Annual Sidewalk, Curb and Gutter Repair Program.
