APPROVAL OF DESIGN REVIEW AND AUTHORIZING BID ADVERTISEMENT
RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that the Redevelopment Agency adopt Resolution
No. 93-16 approving plans and specifications for subject project
and directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
FISCAL IMPACT
The preliminary project construction cost estimate is $20,000. The
weight room will be funded by a transfer from the asset forfeiture
fund to the Redevelopment Capital Fund when the' bidding is
completed and consruction contract awarded. Since no tax increment
funds will be used for the project no finding for construction of
public improvements in the Town Center Project area is required
pursuant tc AB1290.
BACKGROUND
The weight room will be located in the northwest corner of the'
lower level of the Tustin Civic Center parking structure. It is
intended fcr use by all City personnel.
The enclosure utilizes approximately 870 square feet of the
basement level of the parking structure, and occupies a corner area
and two adjacent parking spaces. Adequate parking remains for all
City vehicles and designa=ed space for assigned spaces of Council
and handicap requirements.
Two existing concrete walls, the existing upper deck, and the
existing lower slab comprise most of the elements of the enclosure.
Two new masonry walls complete the enclosure. Existing lighting
and sprinkler systems within this area are upgraded as needed per
code. Air conditioning, electrical outlets, fire alarm and
telephone systems are also provided.

The Police Department will provide already previously 'authorized
athletic equipment and rubber floor mats when the enclosure is
completed.

A RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING DESIGN REVI~ FOR THE
ADDITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WEIGHT ROOM WITHIN THE
EXISTING PARKING STRUCTURE AT 300 CENTENNIAL WAY, TUSTIN,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO A[YVERTISE FOR BIDS.
The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Tustin does
hereby resolve as follows:

The Redevelopment Agency finds and determines as
follows:

Pursuant to the adopted Civic Center
Redevelopment Plan, the Redevelopment Agency
· shall approve all site plans and architectural
designs of any project proposed within the
project -area.

That a proper application has been filed
requesting authorization to build the Police
Department weight room -located within the
exisitng parkign structure on the property
located at 300 Centennial Way.
Pursuant to Section '9272 of the Tustin
Municipal code, the Redevelopment Agency finds
that the location, size, architectural
features and general appearance of the
proposed structure will not impair the orderly
and harmonious development of the area, the
present or future development therein, or the
occupancy as a whole. In making such
findings, the Redevelopment Agency has
considered at least the following items:

II. The Redevelopment Agency hereby approves the design
review approving plans and specifications for the
addition of the Police Department weight room
16cated within the eisting parking structure on the
property located at 300 Centennial Way, and
directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Redevelopment Agency of the
City of Tustin at a regular meeting held on the 15th day
of November, 1993, by the following vote:
