WILLIAM A. HUSTON, CITY MANAGER

RESOLUTION NO. 93-126
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 93-126 relating to the general leave accumulation
and health/welfare benefits package for Confidential Employees.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The City has four employees in ..positions that belong to the Confidential Group as.follows:
Executive Coordinator
Department Clerk, City Manager's Office
Secretary, Personnel Services
Office Coordinator
Only one employee of the above group is eligible to retire within the next five years so the fiscal
impact for the retiree health insurance benefit could be $1800 per year after the retirement date
chosen. The fiscal impact of the new flexible benefits structure is too difficult to predict with
any accuracy since it depends on what health plans the employee chooses. With only four
positions included within this group, none to insignificant is expected.
DISCUSSION:
As Council is aware, memorandum of understandings for the Tustin Municipal Employees
Association and Tustin Police Officers' Association were approved at the last meeting.
Confidential employees are unrepresented but it has been the City's practice to retain consistency
of the Benefits Package offered to employees. This resolution grants to Confidential Employees
· the same options available to all other non-m.anage, ment employees.
