FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND AUTHORIZATION TO FILE A NOTICE
SUBJEC~ OF COMPLETION FOR MODIFICATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND SAFETY LIGHTING AT
RED .HILL AVENUE/EL CAMINO REAL AND AT RED HILL AVENUE/NISSON ROAD
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of
September 20, 1993, adopt the attached resolution accepting said
work and authorizing the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
Assuming no claims or stop notices are filed, it is further
recommended that 35 days after the date of recordation of the
Notice of Completion, that the Council authorize payment of the
final '10% retention in the amount of $13,992.00. This amount
together with previous payments of $125,928.00, represents 100% of
the final contract amount.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The final cost of construction is $139,920.00. This amount is to
be paid from the allocated funds for the project in the FY 1993-94
Capital. Improvement Project budget.
BACKGROUND:
This project included the modification of traffic signals and
safety lighting at the intersections of Red Hill Avenue/E1 Camino
Real and at Red Hill Avenue/Nisson Road. This project also
included the additional installation of curb ramps at the noted
intersections where required.
This work has been completed to the satisfaction of the Engineering
Division. The final contract amount is $139,920.00. This
represents an increase of 1.8% (for the above noted additional curb
ramps) from the original contract amount of $137,370.00.

RESOLUTION NO. 93-107
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING RECORDATION OF NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR
MODIFICATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND SAFETY LIGHTING AT
RED HILL AVENUE AND EL CAMINO REAL AND AT RED HILL
AVENUE AND NISSON ROAD
WHEREAS, Baxter-Griffin Company, has a contract with the City
of Tustin to modify the hereinafter described public works and
improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the
construction and completion of said public improvements,
hereinafter mentioned in manner satisfactory to the City Council
of the City of Tustin; and'
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has
completed said improvements hereinafter more particularly
described in accordance with the provisions of the contract
documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said
public work and improvement should be filed and payment of the
balance due said contract, authorized in accordance with the
contract documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Tustin that. said public work and improvement be, and the
same is hereby accepted. Said public works and improvement is
more particularly described as follows:
Modification of Traffic Signal and Safety
Lighting at Red Hill Avenue and E1 Camino Real
and at Red Hill Avenue and Nisson Road
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City
of Tustin be, and is hereby authorized to execute and file a
Notice of Completion and acceptance of said public works and
improvement described herein as required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the city Council
of the City of Tustin held on the 20th day of September, 1993
