FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS - CONSTRUCTION OF
SUBJECT: TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND SAFETY LIGHTING AT WARNER AVENUE AND
PULLMAN STREET (P.W. FILE NO. T-91-2)
RECOM/~ENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council,.at their meeting of August
2, 1993, adopt the attached.resolution accepting said work and
authorizing the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
Assuming no claims or stop notices are filed, it 'is further
recommended that 35 days after the date of recordation of the
Notice of Completion, the Council authorize payment of the final
10% retention in the amount of $10,142.90. This amount together
with previous payments of $91,286.13, represents 100% of the final
contract amount.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The final cost of construction is $101,429.03. This amount is paid
from the allocated funds for the project in FY 1992-93. The City
of Tustin will be reimbursed for 50% of the cost of construction by
the City of Santa Ana, Caltrans, and Steelcase, Inc.
BACKGROUND:
This project was identified as mitigation for impacts due to the
closure of Warner Avenue during construction of Stage I of
Caltrans' I-5 Freeway/SR-55 Freeway Interchange project.
The traffic signal project, a cooperative effort between the Cities
of Tustin and Santa Ana, and Caltrans and Steelcase, Inc.,
implemented the installation of a traffic signal and safety
lighting at the intersection of Warner Avenue and Pullman Street.
The City of Tustin was lead agency for the installation of the
noted project and will be receiving reimbursement for 50% of the
costs of the project from the City of Santa Ana, Caltrans, and
Steelcase, Inc.
This work has been completed to the satisfaction of the Engineering
Division. The final contract amount is $101,429.03. This
represents an increase of 1.5% from the original contract amount o;
$99,894.00.

RESOLUTION NO. 93-80
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING RECORDATION OF NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND SAFETY LIGHTING AT
WARNER AVENUE AND PULLMAN STREET
WHEREAS, Steiny and Company, having a contract with the City
f Tustin to construct the hereinafter described public works and
improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the
construction and completion of said public improvements,
~einafter mentioned in manner satisfactory to the City Council
the City of Tustin; and
WHEREAS, the City' Council finds that said contractor has
1] completed said improvements hereinafter more particularly
described in accordance with the provisions of the contract
]2 documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said
public work and improvement should be filed and payment of the
13 balance due said contract authorized in accordance with the
contract documents. ~ .....
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
15 City of Tustin that said public work and improvement be, and the
same is hereby accepted. Said public works and improvement is
more particularly described as follows:

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City
19 of Tustin be,. and is hereby authorized'to execute and file a
Notice of Completion and acceptance of said public works and
