AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR MODIFICATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND
INTERCONNECT AT MAIN STREET & PACIFIC STREET, AT MAIN STREET
& "B" STREET, AND AT EL CAMINO REAL & 6TH STREET
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of June 7,
1993, award the contract for the subject project to Steiny & Company,
Inc. in the amount of $33,400.00.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The low bid by Steiny & Company, Inc. is approximately 10% lower than
the Engineer's estimate of $37,100.00 for this project. This project
will be funded with the City's FY 1992-93 Capital Improvement Program.

Bids were opened on May 20,

The references and the State Contractors License of Steiny & Company,
Inc. have been checked and verified and are appropriate for the subject
project. Additionally, Steiny & Company, Inc. has previously worked on
City projects and their performance was satisfactory.
This project will provide for the modification of traffic signals and
interconnect at Main Street and Pacific Street, at Main Street and "B"
Street, and at E1 Camino Real and 6th Street. With this project, these
locations will now become part of the City's Traffic Signal Master
Control System.
