BACKGROUND: At the May 17, 1993 City Council meeting, Mayor Pro Tem Saltarelli expressed concern regarding school children crossing at the intersection of Bryan Avenue and Browning Avenue to attend Veeh Elementary School and Columbus-Tustin Middle School. DISCUSSION: The Engineering Division staff has started the traffic investigation of the subject location and is in the process of gathering data that will be used in analysis to determine the need for a crossing guard. The Tustin Police Department will be notified that we are preparing a study of this area and we will be soliciting their input. When the crossing guard study has been completed and analyzed, the Engineering Division will present their findings to the City Council for their consideration at a future meeting. Robert S.
