BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:
The California Department of Transportation is currently soliciting

The City is currently preparing a FY 1995-96 TCI application for partial

of $560,000.00. The City's FY 1994-95 TCI application for the same
Commuter Rail Station was previously approved by the California
Transportation Commission in the amount of $230,000.00.
As part of the application package submitted, a city Council resolution
must be approved identifying the city agent (City Engineer) who is
authorized to submit the necessary application documents and enter into
an agreement with the State to implement the project if the funding is
approved. Applications are due.~on or before October 3, 1994.
