HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR PUBLIC FACILITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS SOUTHWEST NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING (1993-94 FY) RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of August 15, 1994, award a contract to Lambaren Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $40,575.25. FISCAL IMPACT This project is funded in the 1993-94 FY Capital Improvement budget and is funded through .Community Development Block Grant Funds for the 1993-94 FY. There is more than sufficient funding to cover the award of the subject project. BACKGROUND Bids for the subject project were opened on July 22, 1994. Griffith Company, Santa Ana ................... .$40 575.25 .$44 577.75 .$45 693.00 .$46 724.60 .$47 220.10 .$48 143.65 .$48 653.00 .$52 25O.0O .$52 342.85 .$98 660.30 This project consists of the removal and replacement of sidewalk, curb and gutter and drive aprons for the purpose of improving the public facilities within the Southwest Neighborhood to increase safety and reduce blight. Lambaren Contractors, Inc. has completed two previous contracts with the City with very satisfactory results. Robert S.
