CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 8:30 A.M. by Mayor Welsh for the purpose of discussing Thiokol/Dynachem Corp. and its present operations. II. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen: Welsh, Sharp, Schuster, Kennedy, Saltarelli Absent: Councilmen: None Others present: Dan Blankenship, City Administrator James G. Rourke, City Attorney Ruth C. Poe, City Clerk Mary E. Wynn, Deputy City Clerk Mayor Welsh asked for a motion for an Executive Session for legal matters. It was moved by Saltarelli, seconded by Sharp, to recess to an Executive Session to discuss legal matters. Carried unanimously. The meeting recessed at 8:32 A. M. The meeting reconvened at 9:38 A.M. It was moved by Welsh, seconded by Kennedy, to authorize and direct staff to immediately procure services of highly qualified scientific experts to assist the City in the bynachem problem and report back to the City Council as quickl~ as p~Sible. Staff is also authorized and directed to confer with theaIrvine Company to secure its assistance in the Dynachem problem. Carried unanimously. It was moved by Saltarelli, seconded by Sharp, that the Mayor be authorized to contact our Legislative Representatives in Sacramento and advice them of what we believe to be an ineffectual, unsatisfactory, inept and perhaps un- sympathetic activity on the part of the Air Quality Management District and request that the auspices and technical expertise of that district be utilized to assist the City of Tustin in determining the true nature of the air quality problem that may or may not exist in the City of Tustin. Carried unanimously. It was moved by Saltarelli, seconded by Sharp, that the meeting adjourn at 9:41 A. M. Carried unanimously.
