HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION PUBLIC FACILITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING FOR 1993-94 FY ~ECOMMENDATION For consideration by the City Council, at their meeting of May 16, 1994. It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution approVing the plans and specifications for the subject project and directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids. FISCAL IMPACT The estimated cost of this project is $19,280.00 and has been~ budgeted at $20,000.00. The budgeted $20,000.00 will be provided by Community Development Block Grant Funds. BACKGROUND ~' This project will utilize.CDBG funds. The purpose of this'project is to improve public facilities to make them more accessible and comply with the requirements of'theAmericans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These improvements will include walkway repairs at park facilities and access ramps at various intersections and public facilities. Hallman Junior Civil Engineer Attachm=nt 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 23 24 25 26 127 28 RESOLUTION NO. 94-60 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PUBLIC FACILITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING FOR 1993-94 FY WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California to contract for the construction of portland cement concrete and sidewalk and access ramps; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and specifications for the construction of said work; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that .the plans and specifications presented by the City Engineer. be and are hereby approved as the plans and specifications for: Public Facilities and Improvements for Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding for 1993-94 FY BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that ,..the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt and sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; Class I: Existing Facilities.
