HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SB 821 BICYCLE/PEDESTRIANFACILITIES, PROJECT APPLICATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1994-95 RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of April 4, 1994 adopt a resolution approving the application for Bicycle and/or Pedestrian Facility Funds under SB 821. FISCAL IMPACT None, the allocated funds will be placed on reserve for the City of Tustin, in the County Local Transportation Funds (LTF). BACKGROUND An allocation of $17,598.00 will be available to the City in FY 1994-95, under SB 821 Program for Bicycle and/or Pedestrian Facilities. On February 22, 1994, the City Council awarded the construction contract for sidewalks and access ramps, SB 821 Project, 1993-94 FY in the amount of $9,587.50. This project which will be under construction soon will provide continuous concrete sidewalk and ramps on the west side of Myford Road north of Walnut Avenue .to link with the existing sidewalk approximately 400' north of Walnut Avenue. The City this year, is proposing a new sidewalk in the industrial area, on the south side of Walnut Avenue between Franklin Avenue and Sinclair Circle. The proposed project will be ready for bid in September, 1994, after the City receives project approval from the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) in May or June, 1994. The Project Engineer's estimate of $17,981.09 will be funded from the remaining 1993-94 FY funds in the amount of $383.09 and from the 1994-95 FY available allocation in the amount of $17,598.00 under this year's application.
