HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION DECLARATION OF SURPLUS FURNITURE RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council declare the furniture/ equipment detailed in this report and not required for public use as surplus and authorize the City's purchasing agent to dispose of the items in accordance with Ordinance No. 871. FISCAL IMPACT The total proceeds received for the sale of the aforementioned furniture is to be credited to the General Fund. Estimated value is $1,500.00 - $2,000.00. BACKGROUND Section 1626 A (2) of' the City of Tustin Ordinance No. 871 discusses the disposition of property and requires the purchasing agent to prepare a written estimate value of any surplus items not reusable by the City or not required for public use. Further, the City Council must find that these surplus items are not required for public use and after said finding, the purchasing agent shall have the authority to sell such items in accordance with Sections 1625C and Section 1625d of Ordinance No. 871, whichever is applicable. Attached is a complete inventory of surplus furniture remaining at the Water Division 235 Main Street facility, that is currently in excess of any relocation and redesign needs for the Civic Center Expansion Project. Furniture that is recommended to be declared surplus is in poor condition, does not conform with the interior design of the Civic Center, and/or cannot be easily retrofitted or refurbished for other City use.
