.)ATE:
FEBRUARY 22, 1994
TO:
FROM:
SUBJECT:
WILLIAM A. HUSTON, CITY MANAGER
OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK
ESTABLISHING PRECINCTS, POLLING PLACES, PRECINCT BOARD
MEMBERS AND COMPENSATION FOR APRIL 12, 1994 ELECTION
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution No. 94-23 approving voting precincts, polling
places, precinct board members, and precinct related
compensation for the General Municipal Election to be held on
Tuesday, April 12, 1994.
,
FISCAL IMPACT:
The approximate cost for polling sites, inspectors, clerks, and
the training class is $3,705.00, and this amount has been
appropriated in the 1993-94 election budget.
BACKGROUND:
Election Code Section 1638 requires the Office of the City
Clerk, not less than 29 days prior to an election, to adopt.a
Resolution appointing members of the precinct boards and
designating the polling places.
For the General Municipal Election, to be held on Tuesday,
April 12, 1994, nineteen (19) precincts and polling sites have
been established. These precincts/polling sites reflect
minimal change from the 1992 election. It should be noted that
voters in Precinct 13 will vote out of their precinct at
Congregation B'Nai Israel due to the lack of polling sites with
adequate parking in Precinct 13.
Compensation rates for polling sites and precinct board members
have been set in accordance with County rates.

Chief Deputy City Clerk
