HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT SUBJECT: DECLARATION OF SURPLUS RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that %he City Council declare tke furniture/equipment detailed in this report and not re~aired for Public use as surplus and authcrize the City's purchasing agent -o dispose of the items in accordance with Ordinance No. 87!.. FISCAL IMPACT The total proceeds received for the sale of the aforementionad furniture is to be credited tc the General Fund. Estimased is $2,000 - 2,500. BACKGROUND Section 1626 A (2) of the City of Tustin OrdinanCe 871 discusses the disposition of property an~ requires the purchasing agent 5o prepare a written estimate value of any surplus items not reusakLe by the City or not required for public use. Further, the Cisy Council must find that these surplus items are not re~aired fcr public use and after said finding, the purchasing agent shall ha-0-e the authority to sell such items in accordance with Sections !62=c and Section 1625d of Ordinance 871, whichever is applicable. Attached is a complete inventory completed of all furniture r~maining at the 15222 Del Amo facility that is currently ~n excess of any relocation and redesign needs for the Civic Center Expansicn Project. Furniture that is recommended to be declared surplus is in poor condition, does not conform with the interior'design of tke Civic Center, and/or cannot be easily retrofitted or refurbiskad for other City use.
