AUTHORIZATION FOR THE STATE TO PURCHASE THREE CHEVY
SILVERADO 3500s
SUMMARY
Adoption of Resolution No. 03-57 will authorize the Department of General Services, State of
California to purchase three current model year Chevy Silverado 3500s on behalf of the City of
Tustin.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 03-57 authorizing the Department of
General Services, State of California to purchase three current model year Chevy Silverado 3500s
on behalf of the City of Tustin.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are currently budgeted in the Equipment Lease Fund, Account Number 84-801-9720 for the
purchase of three current year model Chevy Silverado 3500s with specified additional equipment.
The total cost including all taxes and state fees is $96,231.17.
DISCUSSION
The three Chevy Silverado 3500s with specified equipment will replace three service vehicles with
an average age of thirteen years. The proposed purchase will increase the efficiency of the water
quality and treatment plant operations in the Water Services Division and help replace an aging fleet.
The State buys in large volume and is able to receive a more competitive price for equipment than
the City. Staff contacted a number of local dealers and received the following bid prices for three like
equipped Chevy Silverado 3500s. The prices listed below include sales taxes and applicable fees.
