TUSTIN CITY COUNCIL
March 14, 1977
CALL TO ORDER Meeting called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Sharp, in the Council
Chambers, Centennial at Main, Tustin.

ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen: Sharp, Welsh, Schuster, Edgar, Saltarelli.
Absent: Councilmen: N6ne.
Others present: William L. Bopf, City Administrator
R. Kenneth Fleagle, Asst. City Admin. for
Community Development
James Rourke, City Attorney
Ruth Poe, City Clerk

BUSINESS
ITEMS 1. CONSIDERATION OF BIDS - PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE YARD
Mr. Bopf referred to his report relative to bids received and
explained need for commitment in the 1977-78 budget for $143,000.
Mr. Bopf also explained alternatives such as using an in-house
inspector~ deletion of alternates and complications and time
limitations for rejecting all bids.
Moved by Edgar, seconded by Schuster that Council award contract
for construction of Public Works Maintenance Yard to low bidder,
K. L. Redfern, Inc., in the amount of $999,685, realizing that
this is a commitment of $143,000 fram the 1977-78 fiscal year
budget.
In answer to questioning, Mr. Rourke stated that this would neces-
sitate a commitment from next fiscal year budget to be deposited
in a special fund.
Above motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Edgar, seconded by Schuster, that letter be sent by the
Mayor to contractors and principals explaining reasons for grant
and stating where funds came from.
It was stated that according to contract and as required by law
to post a sign stating full information.
Council concurred that this signing would suffice and Councilman
Edgar and Councilman Schuster withdrew their motion and second.
2. EXECUTIVE SESSION
Moved by Sharp, seconded by Edgar, that meetin9 be adjourned to
an executive session.. Carried.
Meeting reconvened at 5:37 p.m.
IV.
ADJOURNMENT Moved by Edgar, seconded by Saltarelli, that meeting be adjourned.
Carried.
