AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR ANNUAL SIDEWALK, CURB AND GUTTER
AND INTERLOCKING PAVER REPAIR PROJECT, FY 1995-96
(PROJECT NO. 4020-6235)
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of November 6, 1995, award the subject
contract to West Coast Construction in the amount of $225,488.45.
FISCAL IMPACT
This project is funded in the 1995-96 FY Public Works Department Operating Budget (Account No.
010-400-4020-6235) with an amount of $235,000.00. This work is part of the City's on-going
Maintenance of Effort requirements for Measure M and Proposition 111.
BACKGROUND
Bids for the subject project were opened October 19, 1995. There were six (6) bids received and the
results are as follows:

This project consists of the removal and replacement of portland cement concrete sidewalk, curb and
gutter, drive aprons and interlocking pavers at over 500 locations throughout the City. The damage to
the majority of the areas to be removed and replaced has been caused by street tree roots, water and
traffic..
West Coast Construction was awarded the contract for the 1994-95 FY Sidewalk and Curb and Gutter
Repair Project and comPleted the project in a very timely and satisfactory manner.
