HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF IRVINE - SLURRY SEAL JAMBOREE ROAD BETWEEN EDINGER AVENUE AND BARRANCA PARKWAY RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of August 21, 1995, authorize the Director of Public Works to sign the subject reimbursement agreement with the City of Irvine. FISCAL IMPACT The City's share of cost for construction of this project will be based on actual construction quantities and estimated to be $35,000.00. The actual cost after construction will be derived from the City's Major Maintenance Program Budget for Fy 1995-96 (C.I.P. Project No. 700001). BACKGROUND On October 4, 1991, the City of Tustin (Tustin) and the CitY of Irvine (Irvine) executed a Maintenance Agreement for Jamboree Road between Edinger Avenue and Barranca Parkway. In the agreement, Irvine will maintain the northbound lanes and all ramps easterly of the street centerline and Tustin will maintain the southbound lanes and all ramps westerly of the centerline. DISCUSSION Irvine has recently signed a slurry seal contract with Doug Martin Contracting Company, Inc. Irvine has slurry sealed northbound Jamboree Road and asked the City of Tustin to participate in this joint project to slurry seal the southbound lanes. Approval of the subject reimbursement agreement will enable Irvine to be reimbursed for work done in Tustin's maintenance area. This joint effort between the two agencies will allow the entire street to be resurfaced, in lieu of only half of the street. Tim D.
