HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF "C" STREET NORTH OF MITCHELL AVENUE, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDING t, CI)RG) l~a-9~ lev (C_[P PROJECT NO_- RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of August 7, 1995, award a contract to Gillespie Construction, Inc., in the amount of $64,840.25. FISCAL IMPACT This project is funded in the 1995-96 FY Capital Improvement budget through the use of Community Development Block Grant Funds for 1994-95 FY. There is sufficient funding to cover the award of the subject project. BACK6ROUND Bids for the subject project were opened on July 11, 1995. The engineer's estimate for this project was $99,900. The low bid of $64,840.25 is 35.1% below the engineer's estimate.
