AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND
INTERCONNECT AT EL CAMINO REAL/ORANGE STREET (C.I.P NO. 800053)
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of ~uly 3, 199S, award the contract
for the subject project to Superior Signal Service Corporation, in the amount of $84,218.00,
FISCAL IMPACT
The apparent low bid by Superior Signal Service Corporation is approximately 9% lower than
the Engineer's estimate of $93,227.00. This project will be funded with the City's Capital
Improvement Program.
BACKGROUND
Bids were opened on June 15, 1995, for the subject pro~ect and seven (7) bids were received as
follows:

The references and the State Contractor's License of Superior Signal Service Corporation have
been verified and are appropriate for the subject construction project.
The installation of this traffic signal was authorized by the City Council for school safety
purposes. The work will include all labor, materials, tools, equipment, appurtenances and
incidentals for the subject project as detailed on the plans and specifications for this project.
