PROJECT NO. 600112
RECOMMENDATION:

of bids for the subject project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
· $132,715 from Certificate of Participation (Bond) proceeds.
BACKGROUND:
The Water System Storage Evaluation Study, completed by Daniel Boyle Engineering, Inc. in October
of 1990, determined that the City's water system has a storage shortfall of approximately 10 million
gallons. The study recommended that a portion of the shortfall be made up by purchasing an emergency
power generator for Columbus Tustin Well. This will provide two million gallons per day of
emergency water supply. The generator unit has been designed so that it can also operate the new
Vandenberg Well when it is placed into service.
