HomeMy WebLinkAbout10 PROJECT 600112 02-06-95,mATE: FEBRUARY 6, 1995 NO. 10 2-6-95 TO' FROM: SUBJECT: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER DIVISION AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR EMERGENCY POWER RETROFIT AND PORTABLE EMERGENCY GENERATOR FOR COLU3~BUS TUSTIN WELL, PROJECT NO. 600112 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended, that the Tustin City Council, at its regularly scheduled meeting of February 6, 1995, adopt attached Resolution No. 95-12 approving plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement of bids for the subject project. FISCAL IMPACT: · $132,715 from Certificate of Participation (Bond) proceeds. BACKGROUND: The Water System Storage Evaluation Study, completed by Daniel Boyle Engineering, Inc. in October of 1990, determined that the City's water system has a storage shortfall of approximately 10 million gallons. The study recommended that a portion of the shortfall be made up by purchasing an emergency power generator for Columbus Tustin Well. This will provide two million gallons per day of emergency water supply. The generator unit has been designed so that it can also operate the new Vandenberg Well when it is placed into service.
