ACCESS RAMP INSTALLATION/MODIFICATiONS FOR COMPLIANCE WITH THE
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) (CIP NO. 200036)
RECOMMENDATION
For consideration by the City Council at their meeting of February
6, 1995. It is recommended that 'the City Council adopt the
attached resolution approving the plans and specifications for the
subject project and directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Engineer's estimate for this project is $215,000.00. The
City's Capital Improvement Program/Budget 1994-95 FY provides
$230,000.00 for this project.
BACKGROUND
As a component of the City's Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan,
to comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) 'of 1990, this project will provide access ramps at
arious intersections within the public right-of-way throughout the
ity.
A tentative schedule for this project is as follows:

RESOLUTION NO. 95-14
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
ACCESS RAMP INSTALLATION/MODIFICATIONS FOR COMPLIANCE
WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA), (C.I.P.
200036)
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City
of Tustin, California to contract for Access Ramp Installation/
Modifications for Compliance with the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA), C.I.P. 200036
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the
specifications for the construction of said work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and
specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby
approved as the plans and specifications for:
Access Ramp Installation/Modifications for
Compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA), C.I.P. 200036
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the
receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work
specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this project is categorically
exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act; Class I: Existing Facilities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tustin held on the 6th day of February, 1995.
