HomeMy WebLinkAboutRDA MINUTES 01-16-95RDA NO. 1 1-16-95 MINUTES REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA JANUARY 3v 1995 CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Saltarelli at 8:18 p.m. at the Council Chambers, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California. ROLL CALL Members Present: Thomas R. Saltarelli, Chairperson Jim Potts, Chairperson Pro Tem Mike Doyle Jeffery M. Thomas Tracy A. Worley Members Absent: None Recording Secretary: Mary E. APPROVAL OF DEMANDS It was moved by Potts, seconded by Thomas, to approve Demands in the amount of $51,577.60. Motion carried 5-0. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - DECEMBER 5, 1994 REGULAR MEETING AND DECEMBER 20, 1994 SPECIAL MEETING It was moved by .Potts, seconded by Thomas, to approve the Redevelopment Agency Minutes of December 5, 1994 and December 20, 1994. Motion carried 5-0. AWARD OF CONTRACT, COLUMBUS TUSTIN GYMNASIUM MISCELLANEOUS ATHLETIC EQUIPMENT It was moved by Potts, seconded by Thomas, to award contracts for REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ~xNUTES Page 2, 1-3-95 miscellaneous athletic equipment for Columbus Tustin gymnasium as follows: Tomark Sports, Inc. in the amount of $13,523.00; Gunther's Athletic in the amount of $3,387.42; Greg Larson Sports in the amount of $333.52; and Flaghouse Inc. in the amount of $289.54; for a total amount of $17,533.48. Motion carried 5-0. · AWARD OF CONTRACT, COLUMBUS TUSTIN GYMNASIUM MISCELLANEOUS OFFICE EQUIPMENT Agencymember Doyle questioned the excessive cost of the wall clock. Susan Jones, Recreation Superintendent, clarified that the price was for four wall clocks. It was moved by Doyle, seconded by Potts, to award contract for miscellaneous office equipment for Columbus Tustin gymnasium to Eastman, Inc. in the amount of $3,711.13. Motion carried 5-0. 5. YOUTH RECREATIONAL FACILITIES IN SOUTHWEST TUSTIN It was moved by Doyle, seconded by Worley, to (1) Proceed with all title and appraisal work for the property at 14722 Newport Avenue; (2) Notify real property interests at 14722 Newport Avenue of the City's intent to appraise the subject property; (3) Upon completion of appraisal and title work for the subject property, return to the Agency for additional instructions; (4) Proceed with further negotiations with Tustin Hospital regarding potential development of a portion of the vacant property at 1101 Sycamore Avenue for joint recreational facilities; and (5) Continue to monitor the possible availability of property at 15712 Tustin Village Way as a site to serve the needs of teenagers and troubled youth. Follow up on any interest shown by Caltrans in declaring adjacent property to the north as surplus. Motion carried 5-0. OTHER BUSINESS - None CLOSED SESSION - None ADJOURAg~NT Chairperson Saltarelli adjourned the meeting at 8:20 p.m. The next regular meeting of the Redevelopment Agency was scheduled for Monday, January 16, 1995, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council chambers at 300 Centennial Way.
