HUSTON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY COMMUNITY SERVICES/COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FROM: SUBJECT: AWARD OF CO--CT - COLUMBUS TUSTIN GYMNASIUM MTSCRLT~NEOUS ATHLETIC EQUIPM]~NT RECOMMENDATION: To award contracts for Miscellaneous Athletic Equipment - Columbus Tustin Gymnasium as follows: Tomark Sports, Inc. in the amount of Gunther's Athletic in the amount of Greg Larson Sports in the amount of Flaghouse Inc. in the amount of $13,523.00 3,387.42 333.52 289.54 $17,533.48 FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for athletic equipment for the Columbus Tustin Gymnasium was included in the 1994/95 Redevelopment budget. The total budget for signage, furniture, fixtures and equipment for the gymnasium is $50,000. The total bid for athletic equipment ($17,533.48) is within budget. BACKGROUND ~, DISCUSSION: At the meeting on November 7, 1994 the Redevelopment Agency authorized the Advertisement of Bids for athletic equipment for the Columbus Tustin gymnasium. In addition to legal advertisements, twelve bid packages were mailed out. Four companies submitted bids. Bid specifications requested unit prices and a total contract price. Attachment A is a summary of bid responses. Due to the fact that no one respondent bid on all of the items, staff recommends that equipment bid awards be based upon lowest unit costs. The proposed items to be awarded are shown in attachment B. Because of incomplete bid specifications, the uneven parallel bars and the pommel horse have been deleted from the bid award at this time. Purchasing procedures will be followed when developing the specifications for this equipment. The athletic equipment should be delivered within 30 days after contracts are approved. The gymnasium should be open to the public early 1995. Recrea~ on Supervisor Susan M.
