SUBJECT: ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 15-77 TO ACCEPT IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE
CITY HALL HEATING, VENTILATION & AIR CONDITIONING REPLACEMENT
PROJECT (CIP 10032)
SUMMARY
Construction of the City Hall Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Replacement Project (CIP
10032) has been completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer and the project is now ready for
City Council acceptance.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt Resolution No. 15-77 accepting the construction of the City Hall Heating, Ventilation
& Air Conditioning Replacement Project (CIP 10032), and
2. Authorize the City Engineer to execute and file the Notice of Completion with the County
Recorder's Office.
FISCAL IMPACT
The construction budget and final construction cost for the City Hall Heating, Ventilation & Air
Conditioning Replacement Project (CIP 10032) was $320,000. Sufficient funds have been
budgeted and appropriated from Fund 200 (General Fund — Capital Improvement Projects) for this
project in Fiscal Year 2014/2015 Capital Improvement Program in CIP No. 10032.
CORRELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN
The recommended actions contribute to the fulfillment of the City's Strategic Plan Goal B, Public
Safety and Protection of Assets.
DISCUSSION
The two HVAC units servicing the City Hall facility had experienced frequent failures and reached
the end of their 20 year useful life. This project provided for the removal and replacement with two
new units of similar size.
The City Council approved plans and specifications and authorized soliciting bids at the March 3,
2015 meeting. Formal bids were received on April 9, 2015 and on May 5, 2015 the City Council
awarded the construction contract for the project to the lowest responsive/responsible bidder,
Pardess Air. Inc.
Construction of this project was completed by Pardess Air, Inc. on October 26, 2015

Construction of the project is deemed complete to the satisfaction of the City Engineer and is now
ready for City Council acceptance.

RESOLUTION NO. 15-77
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE RECORDATION OF THE NOTICE OF
COMPLETION FOR THE CITY HALL HEATING, VENTILATION & AIR
CONDITIONING REPLACEMENT PROJECT (CIP 10032)
WHEREAS, Pardess Air, Inc., having a contract with the City of Tustin to
construct the hereinafter described public works and improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City' Engineer has duly certified to the construction and
completion of said public improvement hereinafter mentioned in a manner satisfactory
to the City Council of the City of Tustin; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has completed said public
improvement hereinafter more particularly described in accordance with the provisions
of the contract documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said public
works and improvement should be filed and payment of the balance due said contract
authorized in accordance with the contract documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin
that said public works and improvement is found to be complete, and the same is
hereby accepted.
Said public works and improvement is more particularly described as follows:
City Hall Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Replacement
(CIP 10032)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City of Tustin is
hereby authorized to execute and file a Notice of Completion for the acceptance of said
public works and improvement described herein as required by law.
