CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Mayor C. Miller. II. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmen: C. Miller, Saltarelti, Welsh ' Absent: Councilmen: Langley Others Present: City Administrator Harry Gill City Attorney James Rourke Asst. Ci{y Aclmin-/CommunitY Dev- Ken Fleagle City Clerk Ruth Poe III. CANVASS OF ELECTION This being the time and place fixed to receive the City Cterk's certification of the canvass of returns of the special bond election held on September 19, 1972, the certification of returns of said election and the absentee votes cast at said election were duly received as provided by law. Moved by Saltarellir seconded by Welsh that the Council receive the Clerk's certification of canvass. Carried unanimously, Councilman Langley absent. IV. RESOLUTION NO. 72-64 A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF SPECIAL BOND ELEC- TION HELD IN SAID CITY ON SEPTEMBER 19, 1972. Moved by Saltarelli, seconded by Welsh that Resolution No. 72-64 be read by title only. Carried unanimously, Councilman Langley absent. The secretary read the title of Resolution 72-64° Moved by Welsh, seconded by Sa!tarelli that Resolution No. 72-64, declaring the result of the canvass of election returns of Special Bond Election, be passed and adopted, and that said resolution be marked Exhibit "A", attached and made a part of these minutes. Carried. Ayes: C. Miller, Saltarelli, Welsh. Noes: none. Absent: Langley. V. DECEMBER 12, 1972, SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION 1. RESOLUTION NO. 72-65 A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Tustin REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO PERMIT THE REGISTRAR OF VOTERS OF SAID COUNTY TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON DECEMBER 12, 1972. 2. DEPOSITS FOR COSTS OF PRINTING AND HANDLING CANDIDATE STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONS FOR DECEMBER 12, 1972r SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION. Moved by Saltarelli, seconded by Welsh that Resolution No. 72-65 be read by title only. Carried unanimously, Councilman Langley absent. The secretary read the title of Resolution 72-65. Moved by Welsh, seconded by Saltarelli that Resolution No. 72-65, requesting County services for the December 12, 1972, Special Municipal Election, be passed-and adopted. Carried. Ayes: C. Miller, Saltarelli, Welsh. Noe~: Absent: Langley. Moved by Welsh, seconded by C. Miller that the ~ity Clerk be instructed to notify each candidate for the December 12, 1972, Special Municipal Election that if a Statement of Qualification is submitted, he shall pay his pro rata share of the expense of printing and handling and further that each candidaXe shall post a deposit of S80.00 for statement in English and deposi~ of an additional $80.00 if he requests translation and printing in Spanish. Said deposit to be applied toward such costs. Carried unanimously, Councilman Langley absent. VI. ADJOURNMENT Moved by Welsh, seconded by Saltarelli that the meeting be adjourned to the next regular Council meeting, Monday, October 2, 1972, at 7:30 p.m. ._ ~arried unanimously, Councilman Langley absent. That the votes of more than two-thirds of all of the voters voting at said election upon said bond 16 17 proposition, were cast in favor of the adoption of said bond 18 proposition, and said bond proposition is hereby declared to be carried, and this City Council is authorized to issue bonds 19 f6r the purpose stated therein as provided by law. 20 Section 5. That the City Clerk of this City is. ]]ereby directed to enter this resolution i~ full in the minutes of this City Council, which entry shall constitute the City Clerk's statement of the result of the election.
