Y
..+ATF: JUNE 3,f'1991 r
TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: CITY ATTORNEY
SUBJECT: COUNCIL COMPENSATION
The latest population figures now reflect that the population
of the City of Tustin is in excess of 50,000. Pursuant to the
provisions of the Government Code, the City Council should now
adopt the enclosed Ordinance to fix Council compensation at $500.
Although there is some uncertainty about the law relative to
when this increase should be effective, we believe the better end
and also the more conservative construction is that it will not be
effective until Councilmembers are seated following the April 1992
election.
Very truly yours,
J ES G. ROURKE
