HomeMy WebLinkAboutPOWERPOINT PRESENTATION (CDBG SUBRECIPIENTS PERFORMANCE EVAL - ITEM #9)CDBG Subrec*ipients Performance Evaluation ------ ------ nn, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I Established by the and Community Development Act Returns Federal communities Housing of 1974 Funds to local Funds assist in providing: Adequate housing Suitable living environments Expanding economic opportunities Tustin's Program Year allocation for 2016-17 is $680,478 To participate in the CDBG Program the City is required to prepare: A Consolidated Plan: Five-year planning document An Action Plan: Annual planning document implementing Consolidated Plan goals Activities funded by CDBG must meet at least one of the three National Objectives: Must benefit Low and Moderate (L/M) income persons o Must address slum or blight conditions o Must meet urgent community development needs The Strategic Plan section within the Consolidated Plan identifies and ranks the Priority Needs of the community A table of Priority Needs is included as Attachment A in the staff report The City Council is asked to determine if these priorities still represent the communities goals and objectives. Subrecipients Performance Evaluation On May 6,.2014 the City Council approved funding allocations for public services programs for athree-year period Approved public services programs are to continue to receive funding in year three (2016-17), if they meet the performance criteria Continue to meet the priority/objective approved in year -one Continue to leverage funds with other resources Report accomplishments correctly Receive a successful assessment of project performance Public Services Activities (max. $106,712) Recommendation • Boys and Girls Club $12,500 (continue) • Community SeniorSery $15,000 (continue) • Graffiti Removal - CDBG target areas $34,179 (continue) • Mercy House $ 5,000 (continue) • Olive Crest $ 5,000 (continue) • Tustin Parks & Rec. Dept. (Youth Center) $20,033 (continue) • Tustin Parks & Rec. Dept. (Kids Corner) $15,000 (continue) Public Services Subtotal $106,712 That the City Council: Hold the first required public hearing to receive public input and testimony; and, Consider public service performance evaluations and approve continued funding.
