Subsequent to an extensive reference check, a review of the bid by
the project designers, and determination that the contractor holds
a valid contractor's license, staff has determined that Valley
Crest Landscape, Inc. has submitted the lowest qualified bid.
The preliminary cost estimate for construction of Phase 2A was
$870,477. The amount of this bid is 30 percent less than the
estimate. Following the award of contract it is expected that the
project period will run September 7, 1991 through January 27, 1992.
The Community Services department has taken measures to minimize
the impact of the project on the annual Tiller Days Celebration.
Staff has also made plans to adjust the size of the Fall Softball
Program and weekend tournament schedule to accommodate the
construction project.
