HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: CIVIC CENTER EDISON COMPANY EASEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Tustin City Council authorize the granting of an easement to the Southern California Edison Company for the relocation of an electrical service to the City Hall facility and authorize the Mayor to execute said easement document. BACKGROUND: As part of the City Hall expansion/modification project, it will be necessary to relocate the Southern California Edison Company electrical service to accommodate the construction of the new parking structure. This relocation will require the City to grant a new easement to the Southern California Edison Company for the relocated facilities. All previous easements, which will no longer be required will be quitclaimed back to the City by the Southern California Edison Company. DISCUSSION: The attached easement document contains the legal description and map showing the required easement. This document has been prepared by City staff and does not interfere with any existing or proposed facilities on the City Hall site. It is requested that the City Council approve the granting of said easement to the Southern California Edison Company and authorize the Mayor to execute the attached easement document.
