HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT ON THEODORA DRIVE, LIVINGSTON SUBJECT: AVENUE, LILLIAN WAY, CANDEDA PLACE, ROMANZA PLACE, LEON PLACE AND LEON WAY (PROJECT NO'S. 600088 AND 600093) RECOMMENDATIONS: It is recommended that the Tustin City Council at their meeting of October 71 1991 award the contract for the subject project to R.L.T. Construction, Inc., of Anaheim, California, in the amount of $319,198.00. BACKGROUND: Bids were opened September 30, 1991 for the subject project and nine (9) bids were received as follows: 1. R.L.T. Construction, Inc. $319,198.00 2. .R & L Sewers, Inc. 335,916.21 3. Valverde Construction, Inc. 344,140.00 4. Jana Contracting Corp. 351,249.00 5. Vidmar Construction Co. 382,619.00 6. Santa Barbara Plumbing Co., Inc. 419,900.00 7. P&J Utility Company 438,658.00 8. W. A. Douglas, Inc. 456,986.00 9. Majich Bros., Inc. 479,603.00 The low bid by R.L.T. Construction, Inc. is 21% under the Engineer's estimate of $403,005.00. These projects will provide for the replacement of deteriorated water mains, sawcut asphalt concrete and removal and replace of asphalt concrete at various locations in the unincorporated territory of Orange County. Funding for these projects will be provided by the 1991-92 FY Capital Improvement Budget.
