SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS. - LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS,
LAURELWOOD TOWNHOUSE FREEWAY EDGE
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the Tustin City Council adopt the attached Resolution
approving plans and specifications for the Installation of
Landscape and Irrigation Improvements along Raintree Road and
adjacent to the Laurelwood Residential Development.
BACKGROUND:
As part of the street improvements along Tustin Ranch Road between
Walnut Avenue and the Santa Ana (I-5) Freeway, the Laurelwood
Development perimeter wall was reconstructed. Also, as part of the
Tustin Ranch Road/I-5 Freeway Interchange Project, a sound wall was
constructed along Raintree Road, which joins the new perimeter
wall.
DISCUSSION:
The existing landscaping within the public right-of-way along
Raintree Road and within the Laurelwood Development requires
replacement due to damage that was sustained during the
construction of the walls.
Funding for this landscape/ irrigation installation and replacement
has been budgeted in the Capital Improvement Program Budget for
1991-92 under Assessment District No. 85-1 (Tustin Ranch Road
Interchange Project). The Engineer's estimate for this project is
$86,800.00.

RESOLUTION 91-129
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS, LAURELWOOD TOWNHOUSE FREEWAY
EDGE, AND AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS.
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Tustin, California to contract installation of
Landscape improvements adjacent to Raintree Road and the
Laurelwood Residential Development; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and
specifications for the construction of said work:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and
specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are
hereby approved as the plans and specifications for:
Landscape Improvements,
Laurelwood Townhouse Freeway Edge
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to 'advertise as required by law for
the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the
work specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project is categorically
exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act; Class I: Existing Facilities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting on the City
Council of the City of Tustin, held on the 7th day of October,
1991.
