AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR WATER MAIN RELOCATION
SUBJECT: ON MAIN STREET AT THE I-5 FREEWAY (PROJECT NO. 600095,
P.W. FILE NO. W -91-3B)
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council,.at their meeting of October
7, 1991, adopt the attached Resolution approving plans and specifications for
the replacement of water mains on Main Street at the I-5 Freeway, from
Williams Street to Stoneglass.
BACKGROUND:
As a result of the I5/SR55 Freeway Interchange widening, Caltrans will be
reconstructing Main Street, between Williams Street and Stoneglass, at the
I-5 Freeway.
This street reconstruction will require the water main and appurtenances be
relocated within the new street. A major portion of the cost of the water
-yin relocation on Main Street at the I-5 Freeway will be reimbursed by
ltrans as part of the previously approved Utility Agreement No. 12088.
DISCUSSION:
The following is the anticipated schedule for construction which may be
subject to change depending upon the date of final plan approval by Caltrans:
Authorization to Advertise Bids 10-07-91
First Legal Advertisement 10-17-91
Second Legal Advertisement 10-24-91
Open Bids 11-12-91
Award Contract 11-18-91
A construction start date will be dependent upon the construction windows
provided by Caltrans' contractor.
The Engineer's estimate for the subject project is $134,190.00.

RESOLUTION NO. 91-132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
RELOCATION OF WATER MAIN ON MAIN STREET AT THE I-5
FREEWAY AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the
city of Tustin, California to contract construction of
Relocation of a Water Main on Main Street at the I-5 Freeway;

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and
pecifications for the construction of said work;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and
pecifications presented by the City Engineer be and are
ereby approved as the plans and specifications for:
Water Main Relocation on Main Street
at the I-5 Freeway
(Project No. 600095)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
Luthorized and directed to advertise as required by law for
;he receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the
cork specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project is categorically
:xempt from the requirements of the California Environmental
)uality Act: Class I: Existing Facilities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of Tustin this 7th
lay of October, 1991.
