In response to Councilmen's questions, he discussed the costs of entering various parades and indicated that he had not yet approached the business community, Chamber of Commerce, etc., for financial support. It was the Council's feeling that the state of the City's finances would not allow this expend- iture, and that all cost proposals relating to the Tiller Days Parade--including the float-- should be submitted for consideration prior to adoption of the budget. Council requested that Mr. Allison make every effort to contact civic and business groups and confirmed that a city float for various parades would be very desirable this year.
