RECOMMENDATION:

Authorize the City Manager to sign an agreement in the amount of
$8,000 with Pyro-Spectaculars, Inc., to provide a gyro -music show
for the Annual Fourth of July Celebration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Planning is underway to produce a patriotic salute to our troops
this Fourth of July. The staff is recommending that the contract
be awarded to Pyro-Spectaculars, Inc. The program includes a
twenty-three minute narrated pyrotechnic musical program, the
longest of the three programs reviewed. The sound system for the
show is an additional cost addressed under a separate agreement.
Last year the contract for the sound system was valued at $1600.
Pyro-Spectaculars has provided the City of Tustin with excellent
programs for a number of years. The show for this year, "Proud to
be an American", salutes our Armed Forces and commemorates those
who have sacrificed their lives.
The contract provided by Pyro-Spectaculars has been reviewed by the
City Attorney.
Staff solicited bids from three companies.

Pyro-Spectaculars will provide $2,000,000 liability insurance and
name the City as additionally insured and in the past have provided
safe and professional services.
The Tustin Unified School District has again pledged cooperation;
Staff has submitted the application and permit for the use of
school buildings and grounds, and has obtained verbal confirmation
for use of Northrup Field. Staff recommends that the School
District be named co-sponsor of the event due to the support they
have given.
Staff will keep the Council informed of progress as the Fourth of
July Celebration approaches.
