AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - TEMPORARY CITY HALL
SUBJECT: IMPROVEMENTS FOR INTERIM POLICE FACILITIES
PROJECT NO. 5906129
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Redevelopment Agency approve plans and
specifications and direct the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
BACKGROUND
During construction of permanent improvements to the Civic Center
and more particularly during Phase I when the parking structure and
expanded police department facilities are under construction, the
Police Department will need to move into City Hall for
approximately 8 to 12 months. Plans and Specifications for
temporary modifications to City Hall to accommodate the Police
Department are ready for bid advertisement. The Tustin Community
Redevelopment Agency in the 1991-92 budget appropriated $594,000
for both City Hall relocation to 15222 Del Amo Avenue and for
temporary improvements to City Hall for interim police facilities.

Please note that staff have initiated early authorization for bids
so that once all other agency approvals are received, the bid
advertisement can be implemented within the normal City Council
meeting cycle for approval.
