BACKGROUND
The Political Reform Act, and in particular Government Code Section 87306.5, requires
every local government agency to review its Conflict of Interest Code every two years, in
even-numbered years, and to make a determination whether its code is accurate or
whether its code must be amended. A written biennial notice of that determination must
be submitted to the code reviewing body no later than October 1 of even-numbered years.
The process is initiated by direction of the code reviewing body to the agency, no later
than July 1, 2016 to review its code and submit the biennial notice by October 1, 2016.
The City Council is the code reviewing body for the City of Tustin Conflict of Interest Code.
