HUSTON, CITY MANAGER CONSENT CALENDAR NO. 7 3-4-91 Inter - Com PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: ELECTRIC UTILITY SERVICE CONVERSIONS AT ' 14462 RED HILL AVENUE AND 14421 RED HILL AVENUE' RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council award a contract to Brewster Electric of Anaheim, California in the amount of $4,641.37. BACKGROUND: Bids for subject project were opened February 21, 1991 with a total of nine bids being received. The results are as follows: 1. Brewster Electric $ 41641.37 2. National Electrical Contractors, Inc... 7,925.00 3. John Withers & Sons, Inc. ............. 81220.00 4. Sturgeon Electric 91500.00 5. Cunningham Davis Corporation 10,960.00 6. Raymor Electric, Inc. 11,649.00 7. Laubach Electric 12,189.00 8. Skip's Electric 13,456.00 9. Dewco General Contractors 23,134.00 The low bid by Brewster Electric is 61.3$ under the Engineer's estimate of $12,000. This project includes the undergrounding of electrical services at 14462 Red Hill Avenue and 14421 Red Hill Avenue. Construction of subject project shall include electrical conduit installation and the installation of pull ropes and/or electrical conductors. The funding for this project will be provided by the property owners involved.
